Artist J. Adams takes center stage on his 2021 singles ‘Crown’, ‘Paris’, ‘Focus’, ‘Always Me, ‘Pressure’, ‘Party’, ‘Slow Down’ and “Conversation“ this early 2022 with Smooth vocals in R&B/Hip Hop. He is truly a Singer/Songwriter/Producer/Engineer and business/brand owner of J. Adams Music LLC (JAMllc).

J. Adams’s real name is Jacolby Adams. He hails from historic Selma, Alabama. Currently, he works out of a home studio called “Evan’s Room”, in Prattville, Alabama where he resides. His passion for music started at a young age riding in the car hearing timeless songs from the likes of Donell Jones and Joe.

J. Adams’s musical ability in production, singing, songwriting, and engineering are all self-taught from videos, practical application, forums, and trial and error, focusing on topics of relationships and the trials of self-realization. His recording career started in 2009, in a friend’s small home studio, and his first home studio rig consisted of a Dell laptop and a USB guitar hero mic, using free DAW software.

Throughout the years J. Adams has focused on perfecting his craft and has been known to have a keen ear for melodies and beat selection. In 2020 he released 2 EPS. “Behind Closed Doors”, released in February focuses on the reality of relationships behind the happy public persona, while “Mood AF” is viewed as a short playlist of songs to set the mood.

He plans to release a number of singles in 2021, as he released his first on January 14th, titled “Paris”. His style of singing and rapping is contributed to his love of wordplay, and a need for certain aggression in some records.

He is heavily influenced by southern trap music in his production, and genres such as jazz and neo-soul in his chord structure. He likes to refer to himself as a genre-less artist, due to his multiple approaches to making music.

His voice is hypnotic, and the rhythm lulls the listener in and takes them on a sexy journey that is undeniable. That’s the kind of music J Adams makes, and it’s the signature style he’s become known for over the years.

After years honing his craft and releasing singles to fans for the past decade, J Adams found himself facing 2020 with a lot of tough choices. As he used music to try to navigate his various feelings of confusion and uncertainty, he discovered a desire to reinvent himself and to make commitments that would last the rest of his life.

Conversation” is one of the singles that was born from a process. “At the end of last year, I had a transition within myself,” he said. “I wanted to start off with a clean slate. He started thinking about what he wanted as a man and what he wanted in hisrelationships. “What Kind of Man” This song is a vision of what a man expects from himself as he tries to build a family.

It’s about a man giving his wife everything he desires for her. It’s about self-reflection and asking myself, ‘As a man, what am I really trying to accomplish?’ His musical ability in production, singing, songwriting, and engineering are all self-taught from videos, practical application, forums, and trial-and-error.

He believes there’s a point in every person’s life when they have to try to figure out if what they’re feeling is unique to them or if there are others in the world who feel that way. Music has helped encourage him through those times in his life, and music can help anyone to be more confident.
