Franky Freedom is an artist from Canada. Franky Freedom - The eponymous album was newly released on March 18, 2022, in Montreal.

Montreal composer, producer, and drummer Franky Freedom (François Laliberté of his real name) was released on March 18, his first album Franky Freedom, the fruit of a passion for jazz, electro, and R&B.

With the help of his co-director Frederic Robinson, Franky Freedom was able to amalgamate his musical knowledge and his talents as a director to present an album rich in sounds, melodies, and groove. 


Franky Freedom surrounded himself with legendary guitarist Wayne Krantz, bassists Evan Marien and Robin Mullarkey (Jacob Collier, Steven Wilson, Zero 7) as well as talented Montreal singers MaryDee and FABjustfab (Random Recipe), in addition to Quebec musicians Gabrielle Gélinas (bass), Gabrielle Préfontaine (cello) and Laurence Roy (violin).

The album was mixed and mastered by internationally acclaimed sound engineer Count (Mikael Eldridge) based in San Francisco who has worked with Radiohead, Tycho, Thivery Corporation, New Order, Trombone Shorty, and Roberto Fonsecca.


François Laliberté studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston where he earned a place on the “Dean’s list” which recognizes the excellence of its performance. He has won several competitions, including the PASIC 2010 International Drumset Competition and Drumset Roland V-Drum 2009, Eastern Canada Champion.

He played with bands emerging Canadians, tours with hip-hop, jazz, and R&B artists (Nikki Yanofsky, Random Recipe, Koriass, Miro) and worked as a session drummer.
